(Printer Friendly PDF Version)
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in Macomb Christian Schools. Macomb Christian Schools is an accredited K-12 school. We are accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools, International) and NCA (North Central Association). We are committed to providing each of our students with a quality, biblically based learning environment and curriculum, and are pleased that you are considering our school for your student.
Our elementary school is composed of self-contained classrooms where a God-centered curriculum is taught. In addition to a basic curriculum of Science, Math, Reading, Phonics K-3, Social Studies, English, Spelling, and Handwriting K-4, we offer Vocal Music, Band, Art, Library, and Physical Education. Computer class is offered to grades 4-6. A choice of Choir or Instrumental music is offered for students in grades 4-6. Students in grades 5 and 6 may participate in inter-scholastic basketball competition. Robotics is offered beginning in fifth grade through high school. Also, elementary students have a weekly foreign language experience.
Our secondary program consists of Jr. High grades 7-8 and Sr. High grades 9-12. The Junior High program offers a basic curriculum of Bible, Science, Math, Social Studies, English, and Reading/Writing. In addition, the Jr. High students may elect two courses each semester from a selection of Art, Computers, Physical Education/Health, Choir, Band, and foreign language. The Sr. High program offers a college prep curriculum which prepares each student for higher education. A complete description of courses is listed in our secondary course description booklet. In addition to the curriculum, MCS offers extra curricular sports and drama.
All students applying to Macomb Christian Schools are tested before acceptance. The fee for testing is $25.00. The WRAT3 is given to determine mastery and placement for students entering 1st - 12th grades. Kindergarten applicants are given the Gesell Readiness Screening. Upon completion of the application and payment of the application fee, a time will be set for your student to take the appropriate test. Fees are payable before the test is administered. Test results will be discussed during the interview with the administrator.
Enclosed is an application and additional information needed for enrollment of a new student. Please read the information carefully. To enroll for the 2009-10 school year, complete, sign, and return the enclosed MCS Enrollment Application (and student application for grades 6-12) and Parent Agreement with your Enrollment fee. · Enrollment fee: $200 per student or $400 per family. · Enrollment fees are non-refundable.
