BIBLE -- Association of Christian Schools International (Grades K-6) -- Establishes the authority of God¢s Word -- Provides opportunities for a decision for Christ -- Approaches each student on his appropriate developmental level -- Reinforces Bible learning with correlated activities -- Builds a lifetime base of sound Bible learning -- Develops academic skills and emphasizes Christian living -- Strong emphasis on character development -- Surveys all major sections of Scripture

SPELLING – Houghton Mifflin (Grades 1-6) -- Builds both strong spelling skills and the related skills that support and expand spelling proficiency: dictionary, proofreading, and vocabulary -- Teaches children to apply spelling skills to their own writing -- Spelling patterns and practice in context help students spell better in all curriculum areas -- Builds vocabulary for reading and writing through words applied in meaningful contexts -- Incorporates three key strategies: phonetic or sound-letter relationships, visual imagery and visual memory, and semantic relationships.
