1. New Student Application Procedure

MACOMB CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS

New Student Application Procedure
(Printer Friendly PDF Version)

Specific requirements have been established for students desiring admission to Macomb Christian Schools. These requirements are summarized as follows:

1.   The student must have a GPA (grade point average) of at least 2.0.
2.       The student must achieve a satisfactory score on a standardized achievement test given by MCS.  This testing may be waived at the discretion of the administrator if recent standardized test scores indicate satisfactory achievement of 90% or above.
3.       There must be a positive indication by students entering grades 6-12 that they have the desire to become a part of the MCS student body.  Applicants for grades 6-12 must complete a written student application in their own handwriting and sign the Student Agreement.
4.       The student and family must verbally express a desire for a Christian education where character, values, and academics are taught from a Biblical worldview and be in agreement with the Statement of Beliefs as stated in the MCS Parent/Student Handbook. Parents who believe that their student(s) meet the above requirements may submit an application to enroll at MCS.  Acceptance or non-acceptance of an applicant depends upon many factors: enrollment criteria, available openings at a particular grade level, number of applicants, etc.  Therefore, MCS will not be able to accept all students who apply.  Applicants should not assume that enrollment is automatic. The following information should be read carefully:

INTERVIEW:
Students who favorably satisfy the requirements for admission will be scheduled, along with their parents or legal guardian, to be interviewed by the appropriate administrator.  The purpose of the interview is to:
1.   Answer questions the students or parents may have regarding MCS.
2.   Familiarize the students and parents with MCS, including the MCS student handbook.
3.   Ascertain that the student truly wishes to attend MCS.
4.   Make final determination relative to enrollment.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE OR NON-ACCEPTANCE:
After the interview has been completed, parents/guardians will receive written notification as soon as possible advising them whether or not their student has been accepted at MCS.  If the student has been accepted, additional information concerning financial and other parental obligations will follow.
