Divorce Care for Students
So your parents are divorced or divorcing… Some of your friend’s parents are divorced. Some of your relatives may be divorced, You see divorce on TV and in the movies Hear about it in today’s music, But like many of us… deep down… you’re probably thinking...
“ I never thought it would happen to MY parents.” Our parent’s divorce can be embarrassing, confusing, sometimes shameful, hurtful, and even at its best, awkward at times, but many of us feel like we can’t really talk to anyone about it. Our parent’s divorce also creates unanswered questions; Lots of unanswered questions. Some seem silly and others can really bother us….sometimes scare us because of what the answers might be.
The goal of these pages is to: Discuss some topics that can help you deal with your parent’s divorce, Provide some answers to typical questions, And to steer you to portions of God’s word that can replace fears with the hope and healing that only Jesus Christ can bring.
In Jeremiah 29:11 God says, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” NIV
Always remember that God loves you, has a plan for you, and wants to lead you by His word and His Spirit, but Satan wants to wreck that plan and lead you away from God with fears and his lies. These pages are a work in progress. Information will be added as it becomes available. Please feel free to contact Mr. Darcie at kdarcie@macombchristianschools.org or Mrs. Scott at kscott@macombchristianschools.org with questions or suggestions for this site.
